Climate-themed away-day for lawyers in Edinburgh

Lawyers have always been in a powerful position to influence positive change, possessing the capacity to understand complex issues and commanding the respect of their clients and other professionals.

Our course will help you feel confident in your knowledge of the climate and nature crisis, and the solutions that your firm and your clients can implement.

We can host your team in a room at the wonderful Royal Botanical Gardens, with a full view of the nature that we are trying to protect.

In a break between sessions about biodiversity and climate litigation, we will go on a guided tour of the Botanics - whatever the weather!

We will explore the plants and the trees, and the role they play in the world.

Course overview:

  • Climate Change causes and impacts

  • Risks and opportunities for law firms and their clients

  • Biodiversity: how to protect the natural world

  • Introduction to Climate Justice and Climate Litigation

  • Solutions: an overview of global, local, organisational, and individual solutions to climate change

Throughout the day, we will have team-building activities, mixing groups up, and leaving plenty of time for conversations and problem-solving activities.

We can include a plant potting workshop if you choose, and everyone will be given a plant to take home.

Half-day and full-day sessions are available.

The result of your investment will be a shared, relevant and up-to-date understanding of climate change by your team.

They will be able to have even more meaningful discussions about the climate emergency with their clients, identify and address risks, and know how to influence positive change.
